Phil Salopek is a veteran of several Washington-area technology company successes, having previously served as the CFO at Notable Solutions, BroadSoft and AXENT Technologies. As an operationally focused CFO, during his career he has helped guide companies from startup through times of hyper-growth, including establishing overseas operations resulting in significant international revenue contributions.

Phil has extensive buy-side and sell-side M&A experience and has completed numerous equity and debt financings. He orchestrated and drove to closure the successful sale of Notable Solutions in 2014, resulting in a 7.5X return for the venture capital investor. Salopek was a key participant in AXENT’s IPO in 1996 and was the CFO when the company was sold to Symantec for approximately $1 billion in 2000.

Phil is committed to the development of youth and served for four years on the board of directors of the Maryland Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, an education association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. He won the 2009 Maryland Business Person of the Year for his efforts in supporting local students.

Phil lives in Clarksville, Md., and is a Duke for life. In addition to earning a BBA in finance from James Madison University, he met his wife while both attended JMU and their son graduated from JMU in 2014.

Phil is a member of the College of Business Board of Advisors.
