Mr. Pompeo has been leading technology-driven business initiatives within both large corporations and small startups for over 20 years. After many years as CIO at General Electric’s industrial automation business, he founded and served as President of GE-Cisco Industrial Networks, a joint venture between GE and Cisco Systems. Having been smitten with the entrepreneurial bug, he left GE-Cisco in 2001 to help lead a series of venture-backed telecommunications startups through funding, growth, and exit. Immediately prior to launching CareTaker Medical, Mr. Pompeo served as President & CEO of PocketSonics Ultrasound, a medical device start-up founded to develop Intellectual Property licensed from the University of Virginia, where he guided the company from prototype through a successful exit to Analogic Corp (NASDAQ:alog) in 2013. Mr. Pompeo is very active in the entrepreneurial and MedTech communities, and serves on numerous advisory boards and industry panels. He holds an MBA from Virginia Tech and a Computer Information Systems degree from James Madison University.
