Brian Hogan is president of the equity and high yield division within Fidelity asset management. Hogan acquired his current role in April 2009 and is responsible for overseeing the portfolio management, research and trading functions within the equity and high income divisions, which total approximately $900 billion in assets.  

Hogan joined Fidelity in 1994 as a fixed-income analyst.  He moved to the high income group in February 1995, and from 1996 through March 1997 worked in Fidelity’s Hong Kong office. He joined the domestic equity group in 1998. 

As co-director of equity research, Hogan managed the U.S. portion of Fidelity global balanced fund from March 2001 through February 2002, at which point he became a diversified portfolio manager.  He then managed the U.S. portion of Fidelity worldwide fund from February 2002 until December 2005. In June 2003, he launched and ran Fidelity blue chip value fund, Fidelity advisor value leaders fund and VIP value leaders portfolio until September 2006. 

Hogan received a BS degree in economics from James Madison University in 1986 and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990. Hogan serves on the board of the Boston Chapter of the Positive Coaching Alliance, a non-profit organization that is committed to providing athletes a positive and character building youth sports experience.  He is also on the Board of Advisors for the College of Business at James Madison University and the AIM Advisory Board at the University of Notre Dame.
