Head of Investment Product Solutions and Innovation, Fidelity Investments

Brian Hogan is head of Fidelity Investments’ Investment Solutions and Innovation organization, with responsibility for Strategic Advisers LLC, as well as strategy, development, management and advocacy for Fidelity’s lineup of investment products and solutions. Prior to assuming his current role in Jan. 2018, Hogan served as president of the Equity and High Income division at Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMR Co.) beginning in April 2009, where he was responsible for overseeing the portfolio management, research, and trading functions within the equity and high income divisions, which totaled approximately $1.0 trillion in assets.

Hogan joined Fidelity in 1994 as a fixed-income analyst. He moved to the high income group in Feb. 1995, and from 1996 through March 1997 worked in Fidelity’s Hong Kong office. He joined the domestic equity group in 1998.

As co-director of equity research, Hogan managed the U.S. portion of Fidelity global balanced fund from March 2001 through Feb. 2002, at which point he became a diversified portfolio manager. He then managed the U.S. portion of Fidelity worldwide fund from Feb. 2002 until Dec. 2005. In June 2003, he launched and ran Fidelity blue chip value fund, Fidelity advisor value leaders fund and VIP value leaders portfolio until Sep. 2006.

Hogan received a B.S. degree in economics from James Madison University in 1986 and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1990. Hogan serves on the board of the Boston Chapter of the Positive Coaching Alliance, a non-profit organization that is committed to providing athletes a positive and character-building youth sports experience. He is also on the Board of Advisors for the College of Business at JMU and the AIM Advisory Board at the University of Notre Dame.
