SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Senior Level Manager with 15 years of progressive management experience at international level, including within UN System, a Masters Degree of Science in Management with Project and Programme management experience.

Especially skilled at planning activities and Strategic Management,

Project and Programme Management of non-profit nature;

Proven ability to build solid teams and to motivate them, excellent work relationship and staff administration;

Mine Action management experience, with focus on mine clearance, Survey, EOD, MRE, MVA, BAC and linkage with development activities;

May to June 2015- The Independent Evaluation Office of the UNDP- National Consultant for Fields

Surveys to conduct:

Evaluation of the Impact of UNDP support in Mine Action, with the purposes of:

Organizational learning, Accountability, and testing of impact evaluation techniques for assessing development support at country and community levels.

Specific duties: coordinate and facilitate meetings with local authorities and communities for field studies, interviews with communities, translation from and into (English, Portuguese, Changana and Shona), notes taking and assistance in report compilation

December 2014 to date

ANASMO- Associao dos Sapadores de Moambique (Mozambican Deminers Association) Planning and Projects Manager

The rights of people (Victims of landmines and Explosives Remnants of War) and recognition of demining efforts put on humanitarian assistance, country reconstruction and recovery, rural life improvement and governance, and conflict prevention for nearly two decades of work in Mozambique are the drive of ANASMO.

My primary role is the provision of overall direction to ASAMO in accordance with objectives under which the organization was founded.

Achievements: The project is still in its formulation phase. However, we have already an Action Plan submitted to the President of Mozambique for Humanitarian Affairs.

April to October, 2014

Demining Consultant CFM (Mozambique Railways)

The primary role was to support a team of lawyers (GLM) with relevant information regarding mine clearance quality of SENA Railway clearance that resulted in three accidents involving an international consortium.

The aim was to gather relevant technical information and assist the lawyers in preparation of a report to support Mozambique in the International Arbitral Trial.

February to June, 2014

Demining Consultant for CONGESQ

The consultancy with CONGESQ was aimed at improvement of field procedures, documentation and management quality of the NGO to clients satisfaction. The NGO works with road reconstruction companies in the north on Mozambique.

Operations Manager for TAAZ Demining in Iraq

Participation in development process with implementation of Mine Action activities to facilitate oil industry development, resettlement of displaced peoples and thus being part of Post-Crisis Assistance

TDI Field Manager in South Sudan

Contributed for Crisis Management and Post-Crisis Assistance by ensuring that patrol staff from UNISFA travel along a clear, free from ERW and landmine problems boarder between Sudan and South Sudan.

Senior Technical Advisor

Managed programme funding and assets allocated by UNDP to the national counterparts. Maintained the donor coordination mechanism for mine action and developed robust resource mobilization strategies and plans, in close collaboration with the UNDP Country Office.

Supervised the preparation of project reports and briefs including monthly and annual reports, semi-annual progress reports, project proposals and monthly summary of the programme financial status.

Assisted the country to define its landmine problem, and to prepare Strategic Plan to eliminate landmines and to support the integration of victims into productive life.

Supervised all mine action field activities (survey, clearance, EOD, BAC, Vitim Assistance, and Mine Risk Education) and established communication with all stakeholders on a systematised basis.
