CISAT Lectureships

Kinesiology - Dorothy V. Harris Lecture Series

The Dorothy Harris Lecture Fund honors former faculty member Dr. Dorothy V. Harris. The fund supports an annual lecture in the area of sport psychology and allows a top scholar in the field to visit the JMU campus

Health Sciences - Nancy Powell Hardaway Endowment

The Nancy Powell Hardaway Speakers Series is made possible by very generous donations from Nancy P. and Robert B. Hardaway, Jr. Their gifts to the university have established an endowed fund for a speaker series to expose dietetics students to the varied and exciting aspects of the profession of dietetics.

Nancy Powell Hardaway is a 1949 Madison College graduate who majored in home economics. Mrs. Hardaway taught Home Economics in the Virginia public schools, was a full-time homemaker for a while, and later returned to school and became an RN. She was a nurse at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, CA until her retirement in 1990. The Hardaways have a daughter who is a Registered Dietitian, and their entire family has a keen interest in health, and nutrition and fitness.
