This 33-credit hour interdisciplinary program is for persons with an undergraduate degreee in kinesiology, dietetics, including registered dietitians, or an approved area. The program is designed for individuals who are interested in nutrition in exercise performance settings. Courses in nutrition, exercise physiology, human anatomy and physiology are prerequisites for admission. Students enrolled in this program must declare a major in either Kinesiology or Health Sciences/Dietetics with a concentration in Nutrition and Physical Activity, and will be assigned an advisor in both departments. A thesis or directed research on a selected topic in nutrition and exercise is required. Although this program does not lead to the RD (Registered Dietician) status by the American Dietetic Association, students may obtain this status by completing additional requirements.
