Skills for Assessing Needs & Evaluation for Results

Prevention Basics - Level II, is designed to assist those involved in prevention coordination and program development to acquire skills in needs assessment and evaluation that are necessary to engage in science-based prevention practice at the project/program level.

PB II Topics:

  • rationale and general process for conducting a needs assessment.

  • identifying types and sources of data

  • developing a plan for systematically collecting data

  • process, outcome, and impact evaluation

  • major issues in selecting and implementing proven programs

  • using evaluation findings to refine and strengthen programs

  • reporting of evaluation results
