Building a Common Knowledge Base

PB I is the first of the three-part series offered through the Capacity Building Project. The series brings to the forefront the importance of selecting and implementing science-based programs and practices. In addition, it enables prevention practitioners throughout Virginia to learn the keys to sustaining effective programs beyond their initial funding cycle.

PB I Topics:

  • What works in prevention?

  • What is "science-based" prevention?

  • How do you make sense of the needs assessment process?

  • I want outcomes - getting outcomes through measurable goals and objectives.

  • What are the major issues in selecting and implementing proven programs?

  • I want results too - the nuts and bolts of evaluation.
