The Chemistry REU program at JMU is not currently funded but there are still active research opportunities in the Department during the summer and throughout the academic year. Please contact individual faculty members for details. Check back here for future updates on the Chemistry REU program.
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has been the recipient of National Science Foundation funding through the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program since 1990. Since 2000, JMU has hosted REU sites in materials science, biology and mathematics. The REU site is a 10 week program in which students work in a research lab along with a faculty mentory.
