Presidential Scholarship* Freshman Chemistry Major In-state tuition or the in-state portion of out-of-state tuition for the freshman year. A student assistant position for the sophomore, junior and senior years.
JMU Second Century Scholars Freshman enrolling in a STEM major. May be awarded for up to 4 years of undergraduate work. Award is for 75% of in-state tution rate for up to four years.
Liberty Casali Scholarship Completed Physical Chemistry I $1000 award toward tuition
* In order to be eligible for the Presidential Scholarship, an incoming student must declare an intention in majoring in chemistry, must demonstrate a level of scholastic aptitude that is based upon the student's combined SAT score (or equivalent ACT score). Students meeting both of these criteria will receive an invitation to take a Chemistry Scholarship Exam that will be given on the Department Scholarship Day. In addition to taking the exam, students (or students and their parents) will tour the department, talk with members of the faculty and current chemistry majors, and eat in a JMU dining facility.
