Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU)

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry has been the recipient of National Science Foundation funding through the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program since 1990. Since 2000, JMU has hosted REU sites in materials science, biology and mathematics. The REU site is a 10 week program in which students work in a research lab along with a faculty mentory. In 2010, there were over 60 students who participated.

The Chemistry NSF-REU site was awarded for 2011-2013.
