Encouraging and supporting visiting Fulbright Scholars from other countries to give guest lectures is a way to enhance the overall academic climate at JMU. Visiting lecturers can internationalize faculty and student perspectives, classrooms and departments in short two to three day visits.
The Occasional Lecturing Fund enables Visiting Scholars from other countries to come to JMU to:
Members of the JMU academic community reach out to Visiting Lecturers who, in turn, apply for a travel award to the Fulbright Program to visit our campus. JMU provides local transportation, lodging, and meals.
