Mixed methods is research methodology that uses quantitative and qualitative data to gain a more complete understanding of the research question (Creswell, 2014). Though mixed methods research has been around for 25 years, it has become increasingly popular as a tool for research across academic disciplines.  In this scholarly community, questions of design, method, and rigor were explored by a community of scholars who were already pursuing or who were interested in pursuing a mixed methods research study.

This community was designed to help faculty progress towards the following outcomes:

  • Attain deeper knowledge and skills in mixed method research;
  • Advance a mixed method research project; and
  • Develop a collaborative network of mixed methods researchers.
