Scholarship Communities
Scholarship Communities encompass a range of configurations and styles of engagement in which faculty empower faculty in extended dialog, inquiry, and discovery around a topic of common concern, interest, or relevance to the community participants. There are four types of Scholarship Faculty Communities with varying scope, scale, and intensity:
-
Scholarly Writing Communities
-
Faculty Interest Groups
-
Madison Research Fellows
-
Graduate Research Fellows
Scholarship Communities are designed for faculty to make progress toward the following outcomes:
- Explore a topic of common concern, interest, or relevance;
- Apply what is learned to some aspect of faculty life at JMU; and
- Collaboratively guide the group toward its intended goals.
