Faculty Workshop Series 2008-2009

The 2008-2009 Faculty Workshop Series is organized in four topical strands: General Education, Effective Teaching Strategies, Scholarship of Teaching & Learning, and Teaching JMU Students. Each strand offers four related workshops designed to provide different pedagogical perspectives on each topic. If you attend all four workshops within one strand, you will receive a Professional Development Certificate from the Provost. In addition, if you attend all workshops in the SoTL strand, you will receive a complimentary copy of Kathleen McKinney's book, "Enhancing Learning Through the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning: the Challenges and Joys of Juggling."

We hope this structure helps you target areas of professional interest and allows you an opportunity to focus your learning experiences. Each workshop is offered Thursday from 8-9:30 (breakfast included) and repeated on Friday from 12:30-2 (lunch included).

To enroll in workshops of interest to you, click on the workshop title and then click the enroll button. If your schedule changes and you are unable to attend the workshop for which you have enrolled, please use the un-enroll button found on each workshop page to remove your name from the registration system.
