This institute is targeted at faculty members who desire time and structure to focus on writing a scholarly manuscript. Join colleagues for an intensive writing experience and leave with a productive start to your spring semester. Optional peer review is available.

Facilitator Bios:
Kurt Schick consults with undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty. As an Associate Professor in the School of Writing, Rhetoric & Technical Communication, Dr. Schick also teaches courses in critical reading and writing, teaching and tutoring writing, and rhetoric. His scholarship focuses on coordinating the teaching of writing, thinking, and civic literacy.
Jared Featherstone is the Coordinator of the University Writing Center at JMU, and he teaches courses in the School of Writing, Rhetoric & Technical Communication. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing and a BA in Journalism from the University of Maryland. In addition to developing his own creative work, his interests include online learning, Writing Across the Curriculum, service learning, and the relationship between teaching and tutoring.
