The Center for Faculty Innovation will provide individual consultations with JMU faculty in a variety of areas related to teaching and learning. Examples include designing a course, developing learning objectives, assessing student learning, actively engaging students, managing a large class, designing effective assignments, creating rubrics, reviewing course evaluations, etc. Teaching is a skill that can be learned as well as improved and collaboration with an instructional consultant can be very helpful in this process. As partners, the consultant and faculty member reflect on teaching behaviors and student learning outcomes. All interactions, discussions, and/or data is confidential.
