Prior to the start of the semester, January Symposium aims to foster faculty excellence in scholarship by providing time, tools, strategies, and encouragement to advance agendas and passion for scholarship. During the Symposium, faculty can brush up or learn new skills related to research methods, statistical and qualitative tools, or grant acquisition/strategies through one of the various 3-hour workshops, consultation sessions, or through the scholarly writers' lockdown.
Whether a new or seasoned scholar, all full and part-time JMU faculty members are encouraged to attend and learn new skills, share scholarly strategies, and network with colleagues outside their department.
Offered the week prior to the start of spring semester courses, January Symposium 2013 will take place January 3-4 in the Rose Library. Mark your calendars now; registration will commence November 26.
Support for January Symposium comes from these financial sponsors: The Center for Faculty Innovation (CFI), The Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) and the Office of Research and Public Service. Authentic partners include Libraries and Educational Technologies, Office of Sponsored Programs, University Writing Center, JMU Learning Centers, and Office of Institutional Research.
