The classroom observation service provided by the Center for Faculty Innovation is designed to provide JMU faculty with supportive individualized feedback regarding his or her teaching. The consultation process will include three steps: a pre-observation conference, classroom observation, and a post-observation conference. The instructor may want to focus the observation on specific aspects of teaching or the consultant and instructor may use a structured interview to determine areas to highlight. Upon request, the class may be videotaped and the tape provided to the instructor. The instructor may request that a component of the post-observation conference include collaboratively reviewing the videotape. All interactions, discussions, and/or data is confidential.
