Career planning institutes provide faculty extended, immersive experiences pertaining to career planning. Institutes range from half-day options to multi-day events, allowing faculty to focus on broad questions of what motivates their career choices, how the different aspects of their careers are connected, and how they can demonstrate their achievement of career successes.

Institutes are facilitated by faculty mentors and consultants with expertise in faculty development.

The CFI currently offers the following type of Career Planning Institute:

Review and Renew Your Career Institute (also known as the Academic Portfolio Institute)

While participating in a career planning institute, faculty will:

  • Experience pedagogy appropriate to the session, and
  • Have the opportunity to actively apply the session content to their career.
