This minor allows students to acquire a deeper understanding of Latin America. All Latin American studies minors must attain proficiency in Spanish at or above the intermediate level (SPAN 232 or equivalent). In addition to the language requirement in Spanish, the Latin American studies minor consists of a minimum of 18 hours (six hours must be HIST 267-268) selected from the courses listed. Across those 18 credits, students must select courses in at least three different disciplines. Participants in the minor are encouraged to explore the possibility of studying in a Latin American country for a semester or summer session.
