Asset reordering is a feature that enables you to manually change the order of assets within a folder. This is useful in creating dynamic navigation menus because you can customize the order in which indexed assets appear in the menu.  You will need to go to the Folder and select View for the folder which gives you the list of items in the folder. NOTE: It may be helpful to click the ALL dropdown to remove pagination from your page when reordering long pages.

It can be done with arrows OR drag-and-drop.

With arrows

  1. Open the folder in which the assets to be reordered reside.
  2. Click on the item you want to move, above the list in the menu arrows icons will show up asset including double up and single up arrows, as well as down and double down arrows.
  3. Clicking on one of the single up or down arrows will move the associated asset up or down one place.
  4. Clicking on one of the double up or down arrows will move the associated asset up to the top of the list or down to the bottom.
  5. There is no Submit button for this action; assets are moved instantly and can be reordered as desired.

**Additional Notes - The left Asset Tree orders all assets alphabetically for ease of use, and therefore will not necessarily reflect the actual manually managed asset order inside a given folder.

With Drag-and-Drop

  1. Select a folder to view its contents.
  2. Click "Order" to sort the contents in ascending or descending order.
  3. Once the contents of the folder have been sorted, a custom cursor will appear over any field that doesn't have a link or some other clickable field.
  4. Click on the field to move an asset up or down and drop it in its desired order in the folder.

Please Note:   Cascade Server will still support the up-down arrows reordering located beneath the "Action" field.
