How We Can Help
There are many ways that we can help you with your resume. Check the calendar at the bottom of this page for dates, times, and locations of these offerings.
Walk-In Hours with Career Educators
Career Educators are trained volunteer student staff that are available to assist fellow students with first-time resume reviews, getting started on Recruit-A-Duke, or learning about resources available through our office. You can schedule an appointment with Career Educators through Recruit-A-Duke or drop in with your resume during designated walk-in hours. See the calendar below for details.
Resume Writing Workshops
This provides a one-hour introduction to writing a resume. You do not need to have a resume written to attend this workshop. However, attending the workshop with a first draft completed can be beneficial so that you can make edits as needed. Academic and career advisors do not review resumes during this workshop, but you can review your resume based on what you learn. There is no RSVP required to attend the workshop.
Resume Reviews around campus
This provides a brief, 10-15 minute individual meeting with a CAP adviser to provide you with feedback on your resume in various locations around campus. Resumes are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis, so no appointments are made. Bring a copy of your resume with you.
ResumePREP (Personal Reviews with Experienced Professionals)
ResumePREP, held early Septebmer each year, is an opportunity for you to have your resume reviewed by experienced professionals in a casual, relaxed environment. Professional reviewers will be recruiters from various companies, and staff from Career & Academic Planning. Please arrive with a copy of your resume and you will have a personal review on a first-come first-served basis. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable insight and perspective on your resume in preparation for the Career Fair.
This provides a 30 minute individual meeting with an adviser in Career & Academic Planning to provide you with feedback on your resume. At minimum, you need to have a first draft of your resume completed to schedule an appointment. Bring a copy of your resume with you to the appointment. You can schedule an appointment on Recruit-A-Duke.
