Frequently Asked Questions about recruiting on campus
Why aren't there more Science & Math recruiters coming to JMU?
Recruiters look at the student resume database to determine whether it is worthwhile for them to come to campus and provide information sessions and interviewing opportunities. If there aren't very many students registered on MadisonTRAK in their desired major, they won't come to JMU. So sign up on MadisonTRAK today so that JMU can be a more attractive prospect to potential employers!
Why should I register on MadisonTRAK if I'm not interested in the employers coming?
The more students who register on MadisonTRAK, the more employers will come to campus, some of whom may be of interest (see question above). Also, many employers cannot afford to participate in large scale on-campus interviewing programs, but they do email to request JMU student resumes in targeted majors. If your resume has been uploaded to MadisonTRAK, you could be contacted by one of these employers- what easier way to find a job?
Plus, you'll receive weekly email updates to the recruiting schedule and be eligible to participate in Mock Interviews (to practice your interviewing technique) and the Employer in Residence Program (conduct an informational interview with a representative from a field of interest).
What if the resume deadline or interview date has already past for a company I'm interested in?
If the resume submission deadline or on-campus interview date has already past, you can still contact the employer if you are interested in the position. In order to obtain employer contact information (email, address, etc.), you need to register on MadisonTRAK. Go to the Getting Started on MadisonTRAK page for more information.
