In 2018, we have chosen to discontinue Career Bites, in order to focus on promotion and rollout of Handshake, our new career management platform. We encourage students and faculty to take advantage of the online networking opportunities that Handshake offers. Students can also explore the networking tips  on our website.

Career Bites: Career Sessions and Networking Reception

Thursday, February 7, 2019

Location: JMU Festival Ballroom

Attire: Business Casual

Open to all JMU students and 2018 grads!

What is Career Bites?

Career Bites is a pre-career fair networking event that allows JMU students to meet JMU alumni across various industries and navigate the next steps in their career path! This event will feature three 15-minute sessions led by JMU alumni on online personal branding, interviewing, and crafting an elevator pitch, followed by an hour-long networking reception with JMU alumni.

Co-Sponsored by: Career & Academic Planning and Office of Alumni Relations

Why Attend?

Alumni from different years, majors, and industries will provide brief, informative sessions on important networking topics to help students feel more confident about their own networking skills. Then, students will have a chance to talk with and learn from even more JMU alumni during the open networking reception. Bonus: there is free food involved!
