Call for Papers: 5th Annual MadRush Conference

How to Apply—The 5th Annual MadRush Undergraduate Research Conference seeks undergraduate research or writing in any Humanities or Social Science discipline. Interested students should submit a 100-150 word email abstract of their project to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 5:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2014. Abstracts should be Word files and should include author, academic major, institution, title of presentation. We welcome submission of panel sessions on related paper topics.
Presentation Format—Students selected for the conference will be notified by email in late February. Presentations should be 15-20 minutes in length; there will be time for audience questions at the end of each conference session. Presentations may include PowerPoint slides for visual support. Presenters are responsible for expenses incurred in attending the conference.
Conference fees—JMU student presenters $10; JMU faculty/student audience free. Non-JMU presenters/audience $15.
MadRush Best Paper Prizes
Students wishing to compete should send a complete copy of their papers no later than Monday, March 3 to be considered for the prize. First place--$150; 2nd place--$100; 3rd place--$50. Winners will be announced at the end of the conference.
