The JMU Bookstore Computer Program sells Dell and Apple computers configured to meet your academic needs. All computers are Campus Network Ready and can be serviced here on campus (warranty terms vary). Our academically discounted systems are spec-for-spec better and less expensive than you will find elsewhere.

You Need It to Be Easy…

Configuring and purchasing a new computer can be a difficult challenge. There are many different options and only certain brands and configurations are supported on campus. The JMU Bookstore Computer Program makes it easy for you. In partnership with JMU Information Technology and academic departments, we configure all of our computer systems to meet your student’s course requirements and receive the best on-campus service. Just pick one from the list of recommended systems for a specific major or ask for help if you’d like to customize a system to your student’s individual needs. There are so many accessories and peripherals needed to get the most out your computer that it is easy to forget something. To ensure your student has everything needed for his or her computer at JMU, we offer the All-Together-One Kit. Each kit contains the accessories, cables, peripherals and software that students need to get their computer connected and to get started on their class work. This kit is very competitively priced and is literally hundreds of dollars less than you would find at a retail store.

JMU Information Technology is an authorized Dell and Apple computer hardware warranty repair center, providing warranty repair at our campus facility. These services include:

• Testing, diagnosis and replacement/repair of Dell and Apple manufacturer defective parts on computer systems under warranty.
• Reloading operating system and installation of anti-virus and anti-spyware software if hard drive requires replacement.
• Facilitating repairs that are required to be performed by the manufacturer.
• On systems with Dell’s CompleteCare service plan, facilitating the replacement of computers damaged beyond repair.
  
  

Your Best Value

The JMU Bookstore Computer Program works hard to offer the best value in Dell and Apple computer systems for JMU students. Our goal is to offer computer systems that are reliable and full-featured enough to last all four years at prices that are up to 20% less than the manufacturer's standard retail price. We work closely with the university to ensure our computers have the right components and warranty to receive the highest level of support. We also work with the individual colleges to make sure we have computer systems that will meet or exceed their recommendations. Other stores may advertise lower priced computers, but in most cases, the price of the computer and the upgrades necessary to match one of our systems is significantly higher. Even then, the computer may have to be returned to manufacturer or the retailer for warranty repairs and it probably won't be as reliable.
