For purposes of K-12 public education, the State of Virginia is divided into eight Regional Study Groups.  Each of these regions is served by a Governor's Best Practice Center.  Centers work collaboratively to form a network to ensure that the needs of school divisions are met.

Region 5 is comprised of 21 public school divisions located in and about the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.  The following divisions are included in Region 5:
