Members of the Administrative & Professional Faculty at JMU are faculty members whose work is distinct from Instructional Faculty in that A&P Faculty work does not normally relate specifically to a teaching/research/service requirement. While normally referred to collectively, the university does recognize Administrative Faculty and Professional Faculty as distinct from each other. Administrative Faculty members are normally within three levels of the president and provide management, leadership, and/or administrative work in support of the university's mission. Professional Faculty normally provide work related to an area of program expertise or management. Administrative & Professional Faculty members serve for one year periods that are renewable each year based on university need and other factors.
