Heather Driver, M.A., NCC is the Assistant Director of the Women's Resource Center at James Madison University.  Heather received her Master's degree in Community Counseling from George Washington University, and has worked in the fields of domestic and dating violence and sexual assault since her internship at GW.  Working in the Washington, D.C. area, Heather has an understanding of recognizing the importance of diversity to a community, and working collaboratively to make sure that all ideas are heard.

Heather has given presentations in the areas of domestic violence and sexual assault throughout the community, including Blue Ridge Community College and many of the area middle and high schools in Staunton and Augusta County.  Along with her colleagues from New Directions Center in Staunton, Heather presented on domestic violence and sexual assault in all the Family Life Education classes for 6th and 8th graders at both Stewart Middle School and Beverly Manor Middle School in Augusta County.  Heather believes these prevention and education efforts are vital in helping to stop violence against women.  Along with her work in prevention, she also has experience in intervention, as a counselor for women and children who have been affected by emotional, physical, and sexual violence.

Heather is also active in the community.  She is currently the Secretary of the Central Valley Counselors Association.  Also, she served this spring as a Challenger Buddy for the Bridgewater Little League Challenger division, which allows children who have a physical or mental condition which prevents them from safely playing in other baseball programs to enjoy playing the game.
