FIELD EXCURSION RELEASE

I understand that participation in this excursion is entirely voluntary, and I may withdraw from participating in these activities at any time. By registering to participate in the above EJC Arboretum field excursion, I understand refunds are not given once field trip sells out. While being transported in a JMU vehicle by a JMU authorized driver to and from the destination, and for the duration of both travel and activity time, I agree to assume all risks whether known or unknown. I understand that activities involving travel and activities in remote natural wilderness areas may involve certain physical hazards, including but not limited to the lack of immediate medical services due to remote location. I consent by signing this form to hold harmless JMU and any of its agents, officers and agents of the EJC Arboretum in consideration of being allowed to participate in this excursion. I understand that JMU cannot undertake financial responsibility for me or my personal property in the event I am injured or my personal property is damaged or lost while participating in the excursion or the activity. I hereby verify I have appropriate personal insurance coverage to protect my health and welfare during the course of this activity, and will not make a claim upon JMU or the EJC Arboretum for any injuries or damages to myself or my property. I hereby verify that I have no known medical condition which would impair my ability to participate in the activities of the excursion. I further authorize and grant permission to the individual(s) leading the excursion and first responders to be treated to save life, limb, or physical well being, should medical treatment be necessary and authorization be required, and I be incapacitated during the excursion.
