Our Fall Bulb and Plant Sales

The Arboretum hosts bulb and plant sales annually. Each event features a large selection of native plants, shrubs and trees that are perfect for adding that special touch to your garden.

Brown Bag Lunch Series

Bring your brown bag lunch and join us in the Arboretum Pavilion for a series of garden lectures on Wednesday afternoons from 12 noon until 1:00pm beginning June 18, continuing June 25,July 9, 16, 23 and concluding July 30th. The lecture series is free, seating is provided, and advanced registration is not needed. You'll enjoy learning from these professionals.

Summer Solstice Van Tour: The Allegheny Highlands at Dolly Sods, WV with Dr. Norlyn Bodkin
	This will be an all-day van tour to the Allegheny Highlands at Dolly Sods West Virginia. Traveling Rt. 33 west from Harrisonburg through three major Forest Associations and into the Appalachian Extension of the Boreal Forest at Dolly Sods, we'll be viewing mountain habitats with elevations of 4000+ft and plant communities similar to those in central Canada. Pack your lunch and be sure to take a windbreaker. The round trip is approximately 220 miles. Be advised, you should be in relatively good physical condition for this scenic destination. Walking Tours

Come experience the arboretum by taking a free educational walking tour. The arboretum also conducts specialty tours that venture out into the surrounding areas. Guided tours are also available by request.

Workshops

Workshops are often held at the arboretum where you can learn hands-on from the experts. Past workshops have included Winter Botanicals for Decorating... from the Holidays to Spring, Topiary Demonstrations, Organic Vegetable Gardening, The Microscopic Structure of Wildflowers, Landscape Design, How to Prune and Making Holiday Centerpieces... to name a few.
