Professional Photography Policy and Usage Request Form

Professional photography sessions need to be requested in advance with the office of the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum. Please submit this printable form and payment to the address below. The cost per two hour session is $50.00. For photographers holding frequent photo shoots, six session dates used at photographer's schedule is $200. For an all-day session for a single photographer of up to eight hours, Cost is $150. Professional Workshops may be scheduled for a photo shoot involving a group of photographers. The fee is negotiated and based on the group size. Please email the Arboretum Assistant Director from the "Contact Us" page on this website for assistance creating a professional photography workshop. Check or credit card payments are accepted. The fee is waived for professional photography occurring with a scheduled wedding ceremony in the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum. A Photography Pass will be issued to you by mail which must be presented if requested by staff on shoot date.

Please stay on the grassy areas or mulched trails and do not pose subjects in the flower beds or on the pond's waterfall flower beds. Damages to flower beds will be billed to photographers posing subjects within flower beds.

Terms and Conditions

I agree to the stated terms of the Professional Photography Policy, the Usage Policy for All Visitors for the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum (, and agree that the administration of the arboretum has the discretion to deny any photography requests. I understand that neither the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum, nor James Madison University are responsible for any accidents, liabilities or problems that may occur before, during or after the specified photo session.
