Using Arboretum Buildings

The Frances Plecker Education Center building is available for public receptions, parties, and businesses for $595 for up to 4 hours. For University departments and groups the Frances Plecker Education Center is available after business weekday hours and on weekends with pre-registration and a staff charge of $25 per hour. (In December, January, and February, the Frances Plecker Education Center building may be scheduled for use during business hours by University Departments without charge.) This Virginia garden is an ideal location for your event.

The Ernst Tree Terrace may be rented for use with or without the Frances Plecker Education Center for private or corporate social events. Prices and various set up options may be selected on the reservation form. The Ernst Tree Terrace (Terrace) provides a beautifully landscaped scenic outdoor setting for intimate private ceremonies, corporate socials, dining, dancing, and live musical performances En plein air, and are fully accessible arboretum features.

Frances Plecker Education Center building is generally open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Exterior restrooms are open and available 24/7 year round.

Use Fees

Frances Plecker Education Center building rental: (4 hour maximum) Advise your selection: Tabled seating set-up for maximum of 40, Theatre seating for maximum of 50, or standing maximum capacity of 85-100 (weather permitting indoor/outdoor use).

For businesses, private and wedding parties and receptions, weekdays evenings after 5:00pm, including seated or theatre style setup, for a maximum of four hours $595
Additional time by the hour: $125

All private party users will sign the Arboretum damage liability and release form.
Fifty percent (50%) deposit required, and full payment due by week prior to date of use.
Alumni and University employees receive a 10% discount of all fees.
Arboretum donors of $500 annually, garden clubs, botanical and educational groups,
