Bird Blog

Welcome to the Birds of the Arboretum website, an online bird catalogue of the avian species that can be found in the EJC Arboretum. This website is a collaborative effort with JMU, EMU, and the Rockingham County Bird Club and will encompass the 113 identified species of birds found in the arboretum.

This website and the data collection is still in progress and updates will be posted on a regular basis; so please excuse anything that you find that is empty or incomplete.

Monthly Photo Contest

Monthly Photo Contest Starting in January, the arboretum is seeking photographers of all ages to participate in our monthly, seasonal pictures photo contest. The contest is not limited to the beautiful grounds and flowers; we encourage you to submit any images you capture of our feathered friends. For rules and submission information, please visit our contest page.

Good Luck and Happy Birding!
