Golden-Crowned Kinglet — Regulus satrapa
Kinglets are tiny olive–gray birds, smaller than most warblers. On this species, note the bright crown patch (orange in the male, yellow in the female) bordered by black and the whitish eyebrow stripe. There are also two white wing bars on both the male and female. They nest in the northern states and Canada in coniferous forests. In winter, they move further south.
