Fox Sparrow — Passerella iliaca

Larger then the House Sparrow, with a rufous tail. It is streaked with rust and gray above and with heavy rusty streaks on a white breast below. It is often seen scratching on the ground among the leaves. It nests in Canada and winters south into the southern states. The largest and most colorful sparrow.
