A large wren, the size of a small sparrow. Reddish brown above and buff below. It has a conspicuous white eye line. This wren is found in brushy undergrowth, suburban gardens and towns. It has a loud song that sounds like tea­kettle, tea­kettle, tea­kettle, tea. It is found throughout the Eastern United States and is a year round resident.
