The Caronlina Chickadee is very similar to the Black-capped Chickadee, Poecile atricapillus, and is known to hybridize with them where summer ranges meet. The Carloina Chickadee has a tiny body with a large head that gives it a notable round silhouette. It's cap and bib are black with a white auricular region
