Bald Eagle — Haliaeetus leucocephalus

The national bird of the United States. The adult has a white head and white tail with a dark brown body and wings. The immature eagle is dark brown with white patches beneath when flying. They often nest near water. Its range has been expanding and it is more frequently being sighted throughout the eastern U.S.
