The Evolution of the JMU Volunteer
June 6-8, 2008
Join the alumni relations team and fellow JMU volunteers for a two-day leadership conference designed to enhance your experience as a volunteer and evolve your alumni group!
We are excited to bring back Alumni Volunteer Weekend (AVW), a weekend committed to educating and strengthening our alumni volunteers. This year's event promises to be action-packed as we debut the new Alumni Group Handbook, Web site and a variety of new chapter resources.
The JMU Alumni Association Board of Directors will also be joining the conference for meals and special sessions, giving volunteers the opportunity to exchange ideas not only with one another, but with board members and university administration.
Dress casually for the weekend, with the exception of Saturday night's Alumni Volunteer Awards! Business attire is recommended as we'll celebrate with President Rose and recognize our alumni groups with awards and ceremonies. Following the program, we'll head out for an evening of fun in downtown Harrisonburg, highlighting some of our new and traditional favorites!
The JMU Student Ambassadors will join us Sunday morning for a closing breakfast, bringing our conference full circle to engage young alumni, and feature those students who are taking their Madison experience to the next level by engaging in alumni groups.
If you have any questions, please contact Gina Dowell, assistant director of alumni relations.
In April, Kelly Warren (’00) led the Richmond Alumni Chapter team in the Monument 10K, raising more than $7,500 for the Massey Cancer center.
