The Office of Alumni Relations is proud to present Alumni Volunteer Weekend 2009! This weekend will focus on strengthening our alumni leaders and groups, as well as engaging and educating new volunteers.
Grab your hard hat and join us for this annual leadership conference along with the JMU Alumni Association Board of Directors, JMU staff members, and fellow JMU alumni. This is your chance to return to campus to celebrate and commemorate your JMU student and alumni experience.
This year's program features dinner on the Quad with President Emeritus, Dr. Ron Carrier, and the annual Alumni Volunteer Awards with master of ceremonies, Sr. Vice President of Students Affairs, Dr. Mark Warner.
Here's what last year's attendees had to say:
It is always very energizing to be back at JMU. Being physically there, on campus, is an experience that renews the love and is a good "recharging" in both commitment and enthusiasm.
For me, the weekend was a celebration of the past year's accomplishments. It was great to meet other volunteers who are working towards the same goals. I definitely feel reconnected to JMU after this weekend.
The time to share ideas, ask questions and shake hands with other Chapter leaders was the absolute best thing about the whole weekend. There were so many excellent programs, ideas, twists on old ideas floating around the room that it made me wish there was a second AVW this year.
