Mark your calendar, and plan on joining friends, family, and alumni for a day of food and fun at Crabfest 2002! This all-you-can-eat and drink fest is quickly becoming the marquee annual event of the JMU Alumni Chapter of Metro Washington. You won't want to miss this! For the price of $25* per adult (kids 13 and under are FREE), you can feast from noon until dusk on fresh crabs, shrimp, hot dogs, corn-on-the-cob, beer, and soda.

* Registrations received before COB on August 30, 2002
will be given a reduced rate of $23!
Rate for registrations received after COB on August 30, 2002 will be $25.

Due to increased security measures at Fort Belvoir, registrations MUST be received by COB, Friday, Sept. 6 to attend the event.

DIRECTIONS: Watch for the JMU signs with purple and gold balloons to lead the way to Ft. Belvoir's Castle Park. In Virginia, take 495 to 95 South. Take Exit 166-A towards Newington/Ft. Belvoir. The exit will lead you onto Rte. 7100, the Fairfax Co. Parkway (Note: the section of 7100 Ffx. Co. Parkway is NOT yet connected to the Centreville/Reston section of 7100). Continue on 7100 for 2.9 miles until it dead-ends at Rte. 1 (Richmond Highway). Turn Left onto Rte. 1. At first light, turn Right, entering Ft. Belvoir Army Base through the Tulley Gate. (If you pass Burger King on the Rte. 1, you've missed the Tulley Gate entrance.) Upon entering Ft. Belvoir, each person will be asked to show a Photo ID (You MUST be registed by Sept. 6 to attend the event!). Go approx. 1 mile to the second light and turn Right onto Gunston Rd. Go .5 miles and turn Right onto Warren Rd. Continue on Warren until you go down a hill and can see the water (.8 mile). When you reach the water, turn Left onto Johnson. Castle Park is 100 yards down on the right.
