As we approach June 30, 2014 and the end of Fiscal Year 2013/2014, please bring any gifts, pledge payments and credit card transactions to Advancement Gifts and Records, 220 University Blvd, Ste 1100, as they are received.
For auditing and accounting purposes, we will record year-end gifts in June based on the postmarked date. Please include the envelope with checks sent to AGR. Online credit cards will be recorded based on the transaction date of the online gift. Transactions with dates of 6/30/14 or before will count in FY2014 giving totals. Credit cards received by phone or delivered to AGR must be received by 2 pm on Monday, June 30, 2014 to be included in FY13/14.
It is anticipated that all gifts postmarked June 30 will be recorded on July 10 and the FY13/14 books will be officially closed as of close of business on Friday, July 11, 2014.
Our graduate assistant, Carla Reese, has been selected for the 2013-2014 Outstanding MBA Student Award! We are so proud of her!

Paper Copies of Gift Records to be Destroyed
In accordance with JMU’s Records Management Policy #1109, hard copy gift records from FY 2007 and prior have been approved for destruction by The Records Manager (JMU Registrar) and scheduled for destruction by confidential recycling. Five years of gift donation records must be kept for audit requirements. Records are currently kept in electronic copy instead of paper.
In line with JMU's directive on Environmental Sustainability, the Office of Advancement Gifts and Records made the switch from printing documents to saving them as PDF files on secure servers. This is a huge step for AG&R which has traditionally been a very heavy producer of printed documentation.
