Biography

Chris Pipkins serves as the associate vice president for advancement information services, a position held since 2008. In this position Chris leads the gifts/bio records, business application (QA, data integration, training and Helpdesk), prospect management and reporting functions that have supported double-digit-percentage growth in fundraising dollars and alumni donors, expanded the usage of and engagement with advancement data across advancement, academic and athletic parts of campus.   Under his leadership, innovation abounded,  examples include, transforming prospect tracking to prospect development and moves management (leading to 30-50% increases in annual major gift solicitations), developing institutional capacity analysis integral to annual and campaign goal setting for two campaigns, self-service reporting for improved annual fund segmentation and reduction of ad hoc list generation development time.

Chris has generated to the business cases and managed the projects for 4 advancement application implementations including Advance Web, iModules and Cognos data warehouse and business intelligence  and co-chaired the university’s task force on gift fees which led to the campus-wide adoption of a  supplemental funding model for the university’s second campaign.

A frequent presenter at conferences for CASE and APRA, Chris has spoken on such topics as advancement and educational technologies, business process and change management,  gift processing, reporting technologies and strategies, data quality and data integration approaches, prospect management, gift pyramids, prospect research strategies, and campaign planning.  Currently he serves on the CASE Board of Trustees, the CASE Commission on Philanthropy, the CASE Alumni Relations Engagement Task Force, and chairs the Ellucian Advance Web User Group Executive Committee.  He has also served on the iModules Strategic Advisory Board, APRA Curriculum and APRA Connections committees and as marketing chair and president of APRA-Virginia.  In 2015, Chris received the distinguished CASE Crystal Apple for Teaching Excellence.

Biography

Kimberly Donohoe joined AIS in January, 2006. She provides high-level administrative support to the AVP. Kimberly graduated from Roanoke College majoring in International Relations.

She has worked at 2-year and 4-year colleges, universities and taught English in South Korea.
