Administration and Finance Scholarship Recipients

The Division of Administration and Finance congratulates the following JMU students who received the Administration and Finance Scholarships for 2008-2009:

Megan Bauer
Megan will graduate in December 2008 with a degree in Geographic Science and a minor in Biology. She is currently working with the JMU Geography department to map out the distribution of endangered tree species. This summer, Megan will complete an internship in the George Washington Memorial Parkway where she will be testing the water quality of the waterways in and around the parkway. She is the daughter of Lisa and Bill Bauer in Facilities Management.

Courtney Pitts
Courtney is a junior in the School of Art and Art History with a focus on Graphic Design. Courtney achieved the Dean's List for the spring semester. She is a three-time recipient of the scholarship and has served on numerous community service projects including Character Counts and Operation Christmas Child. Courtney also works part time at Massanutten Resort and Fairfield Language Technologies. Courtney is the daughter of Kathy Pitts of Telecommunications.

Amanda Ressin
Amanda is a sophomore psychology major who plans on getting her masters and working in a substance abuse rehabilitation facility. She is a first-time recipient of the scholarship. Amanda is the niece of Larry Ressin, Public Safety.

Emily Spart
Emily will be an incoming freshman this fall. She graduated from Spotswood High School where she received numerous academic awards including National Honor Society. She is a member of the swim team and volunteers at Sunnyside and Relay for Life. Emily is also the recipient of the laptop from Dell and the generous accessories package from the JMU Bookstore. Emily is the daughter of Debra Spart, Public Safety.

Kyle Symons
Kyle is a junior, majoring in Music, and is a three-time recipient of the scholarship. Kyle is a member of the Marching Royal Dukes and plays the flute and piccolo. He also pledged Kappa Kappa Psi, the national honorary music fraternity. Kyle is the son of Kim Thompson of Human Resources.
