Role of Your Academic Advisor



Your assigned academic advisor serves as a resource for you in providing information and assistance with the following tasks:

     1. Helps you with your academic planning and decision-making
     2. Explains requirements for General Education, your major and degree program
     3. Makes sure that you understand how your academic decisions affect your progress towards meeting graduation
         requirements
     4. Refers you to other campus resources as needed
     5. Guides your academic choices with regard to your long-term academic and career goals


While your academic advisor can be an invaluable resource for you, final decisions about choice of major, courses that you register for, and fulfillment of all graduation requirements belong to you.
