How to Apply as a Transfer Student
James Madison University expects that students will apply online. Your application consists of several parts, some will arrive in our office electronically and some will arrive as paper copies. Please be certain that all materials can be clearly identified to assist us in matching the parts of your application. Please use our application status form to track your application until it is complete.
JMU does not accept applications from students who are seeking a second Bachelor’s degree. If you have previously received a Bachelor’s degree and want to continue your education, you could either apply to one of our graduate school programs or apply to take some limited courses as a non-degree seeking student. If you would like to take courses as a non-degree seeking student, please be aware that some courses are not available to non-degree seeking students and registration for courses occurs after our incoming and returning classes have already registered.
