In addition to your nomination, we encourage alumni to counsel the prospective student on ways in which he/she is competitive for the JMU admissions process by:

  • Taking rigorous course of studies (Honors, Dual Enrollment, AP/IB)
  • Making good grades (A's and B's)
  • Getting involved in groups and leadership activities (employment)
  • Taking the SAT/ACT in the spring of the student's junior year of high school
