Financial Assistance and Scholarships for International Students
Undergraduate Students:
James Madison University awards tuition grants to international applicants who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence. The awards are granted each year ranging from $500 - $13,000. We use your application for admission, transcripts and test scores to make scholarship decisions; there is no separate scholarship application required to be considered for these tuition grants. Those who apply by February 15th will be given priority consideration for financial awards.
Graduate Students:
There are several types of graduate assistantships (GA's) available: Teaching, Graduate and Doctoral. Each year the University awards approximately 350 Assistantships. To determine which departments are offering assistantships each year, you should contact the department directly to inquire about assistantship possibilities. All GAs assist their department 20 hours per week and earn a stipend ranging from $7,382 to $8,664. Assistantships pay up to 9 credits of graduate coursework each semester (fall and spring semesters). Please visit our assistantship site for more information.
