Why did you choose JMU?
While working on my admission requisites, I could easily notice a big difference in treatment compared to other schools I was applying to. People that I talked to listened to my many questions and always answered with a nice attitude. You could tell that they really wanted to help you, and they did.
Any other reasons?
Location was also an appealing trait, because it is very close to Washington, D.C., so that if you wanted to go out and visit, you could easily drive two hours whenever you want. When I asked around with friends from Virginia, they referred to JMU as a good school – not too big, not to small and known to have a very friendly environment.
What organizations are you involved with here at JMU?
I like to be involved in a lot but here are my main interests: There is IBS –
International Bible Study – along with Campus Crusade and Chi Alpha-Christ Ambassadors. I am also on the JMU club tennis team and try to help out in the International Student Association/Latino Student Alliance.
What advice would you give to international students who are considering studying at JMU?
If you are looking for a school that has continuous student involvement, this is the school for you. You are reinforced in the academic area and surrounded by multiple choices and opportunities to be part of events and organizations where you meet new people all the time. There is always something going on.
